Rent-a-room relief increases from £4250 to £7500 p.a. From 6th April 2016.

Rent-a-room relief is a tax exemption only available for people let out part of their home, but remain living in the house.

This is the first rise in twenty years.

Same rules apply; the exemption is per house therefore the exemption is halved for a couple.
